A Wife of Noble Character: Open Arms

Proverbs 31:20 -- "She extends a helping hand to the poor and opens her arms to the needy."

While I'm sure you could deduce deeper meanings from this verse, I believe it can be taken straightforward. It is important, and kind, to help the poor and needy.

Acts 20:35 -- "And I have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by working hard. You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

When we reach out to people who need help, emotionally, financially, spiritually, we lift them up which in turn blesses us and the Kingdom of God.

God is pleased when we lose the focus on ourselves and put others in front of our own needs and wants. By giving time and energy and part of ourselves to others, we give ourselves to God. This is also a great way to spread the love of Christ and the Good News of salvation.
