Wordless Wednesday *Linky* Sullivan's Island Lighthouse
This is a very simple, yet beautiful lighthouse on Sullivan's Island, South Carolina. It is a blessing to live so close to this wonderful horizon and to look on it as we play at the beach!
That is a feat to climb them. This one isn't open to the public, but I climbed one in NC and there were a lot of stairs. But it was worth it for the view!
It's sort of tucked down a side street. It isn't open to the public so it wouldn't really be a tourist attraction. However, you can see it from several places on the Charleston harbor. It is very simple, but very pretty.
I love Lighthouses - there is something magical about them! And they look so proud standing so tall, and like they are looking after the world. We have visited one here in Ulladulla New South Wales {Australia} that I love and hope to visit again.
It's pretty. I don't think I've seen a lighthouse in person before.
ReplyDeleteThey are pretty. This is a very simple one even for our area, but there is just something about the presence of a lighthouse.
DeleteI love Light houses, I saw several when we vacationed in the Carolina's years ago. Thanks for stopping by Oh My Heartsie's WW. Enjoy your week!!

DeleteI love to check out lighthouses. Too bad there really aren't any good ones in California.

Funny. My son lived in Charleston and we used to go by Sullivan Island, but I don't remember the lighthouse. How in the world could I have missed it?
