A Time For Everything

Last year God put on my heart to write daily devotions on my blog. It was what I needed in the moment. I needed to really dive into God's Word. I needed to find out more about Him and more about who I was in Him. I learned so much and I am so grateful that I obeyed His calling. It was amazing.

I'm not saying I have it all figured out, I don't by any means. However, this year has brought its own needs for the moment. Every moment in time has its own demands and its own way to learn from them. God has entered me into a time of great activity with my family and leadership in my church. It is time for me to focus on those callings.

I have prayed over this blog and what I am suppose to do next. God has encouraged me to get involved with my community and allowed me peace over resting in the blogging world for now. I love this blog and I plan to continue writing, though not daily. I want to have an outlet for what is on my mind and what I discover in my personal bible studies without the pressure of meeting a daily demand.

I am excited to see how "Tales from a Mother" will evolve over this year. I want to get creative and allow different types of inspiration to flow through this blog in a way it hasn't for awhile.

I thank all who read these pages. I am so blessed to have friends all over the world who inspire me, motivate me and encourage my growth in this life. I hope to continue to inspire you as well. This is not goodbye, it is only a new direction. However, I wanted to be honest about the change and say how excited I am about all the new possibilities.

As I've been praying over this transition in my life God keeps bringing these verses to my attention:

A Time for Everything
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

For everything there is a season,
a time for every activity under heaven.
A time to be born and a time to die.
A time to plant and a time to harvest.
A time to kill and a time to heal.
A time to tear down and a time to build up.
A time to cry and a time to laugh.
A time to grieve and a time to dance.
A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones.
A time to embrace and a time to turn away.
A time to search and a time to quit searching.
A time to keep and a time to throw away.
A time to tear and a time to mend.
A time to be quiet and a time to speak.
A time to love and a time to hate.
A time for war and a time for peace.

Part of living, part of being a child of God, is allowing change. Without change we cannot grow to become more like Christ. From one who has never liked change very much, this is a lot to take in. However, in these past few years God has really been speaking to me about how much He can do through me if I only trust Him. I am really taking this to heart. I am very excited about the journey God is leading me on. I pray that He continues to use me to reach out to others and reveal His faithful love. I pray that I keep my eyes on Him and my heart open to His direction during this great adventure.

Stay tuned, it's going to be a wild ride!

  2. I am still trying to find my place with blogging. I think I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, and then there are days I get sucked back into the shadows. Oh well...I will make the most of every post and look for God's inspiration in all things.
