Reaching Out - 1 John 3:18

1 John 3:18 -- "Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions."

Talk is easy. It's easy to say "I'll pray for you!" Prayer is powerful, more so than we can imagine, but do you stop and pray? Is there more that you could do?

Jesus gave two commandments when he was on the earth -- to love God and to love your neighbor (Matthew 22:36-40). To love God should extend out easily to love those around you. Because God loves you, you show that love by extending his hand to love on others.

It is extremely important to love your neighbors, but love is an action. It is not enough to say you love your neighbors, you must show your love through action. Pray for them, persistently. Reach out and help them when they need it. Offer encouragement and accountability. Be the light for them that Christ is for you.
