That is a hard question, but I believe an important one. You don't have to tell anyone the answer, but think about the question. What in this world is worth dying for? Money? Fame? Causes? Family? Innocent people in trouble? God?
God loved the world. God loves everyone in the world, including you and me. That fact is stated over and over again in the Bible.
Deuteronomy 23:5 -- "But the Lord your God refused to listen to Balaam. He turned the intended curse into
a blessing because the Lord your God loves you."
Zephaniah 3:17 --"For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs."
Romans 5:5 -- "And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love."
1 John 3:1 -- "See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him."
God does not only watch over us, God does not only want to make us better through discipline and blessings, God loves us so much that He sent His son to die to save us. To God, you, me, and every person in this world, are His children. To God, we are all worth dying for. And He did.
John 3:16 -- "For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life."
Now let me ask you another question.
What or who are you willing to live for? Money? Fame? Causes? Family? Yourself? Neighbors? God?
Christ died so that we could live. Christ died so that we could never be separated from God by sin. Christ died so that the whole world and everyone in it could know what it means to be loved.
