Lift Up Others to the Lord

Colossians 1:11 -- "We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy"

Prayer is an important part of your walk with God. It is our way of communicating with Him. You cannot have a relationship, a good one anyway, with anyone if you never communicate. So prayer is essential.

My question to you is do you pray for others as much as you do for yourself? Don't get me wrong, it is important to ask things for yourself -- to stay aligned with his path, for health and much more. But it is just as important to ask these things for others. By praying for others we are blessing them as well as ourselves.

Paul says "May you be filled with joy." God wants an intimate relationship with us which requires consistent communication. But by only thinking of our own successes and failures we are missing the community we belong to. It takes all God's children to fulfill God's plans for this world. By loving each other, we can know God more and show a true light in a world of sin.

Dear Lord,
Help me to be in constant communication with you and to help me see beyond the end of my nose, to not always focus on myself but life up others as well.
