Age is Just a Number

1 Timothy 4:12 -- "Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity."

We, in our society, tend to focus a lot on age. you have to be old enough to do so many things. There are restrictions at every stage of life that you are too old or too young for. Some of these age limits are for safety like not being able to drive until 16. Some are societal standard like not retiring until 65. I'm even running into age restrictions trying to put my daughter into school and other activities.

However, age is just a number to God. Sure it helps categorize us into groups of our peer, but our age should not control our ability to serve the Lord and live your life for Him.

I remember thinking that I was too young to make a difference. Sometimes I still feel that way. However, God can use everyone at any age to make a difference in His Kingdom.

Timothy was a young leader and feared that the people would not hear his message because of his age. Paul, his mentor, encourage him to not worry about his age and focus only on his witness. By living your life for Christ, your love, faith and diligence will provide the way for your message and your efforts to be noticed.

Nothing for God's Kingdom is worthless. You are never too young or old to live for Christ and make a difference in the lives of others.
