Joshua 24:15 -- "But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.”
Towards the end of Joshua's life, not that they were settled in the Promised Land, he posed a question to the people. You must choose whether to serve the Gods of their newly conquered lands or the one true God that led them to the land they rightfully claimed. Joshua made it clear where his spiritual allegiance lied -- he and his family choose to serve the Lord.
We must also make a choice, whether to be overcome by the world and follow false gods or to serve the one true God. This is an important decision for every person, especially for parents. When we walk with the Lord, He can give us peace and blessing for our entire family.
Isaiah 54:13 -- "I will teach all your children, and they will enjoy great peace."
When we, as parent, choose to serve the Lord it opens an opportunity for Him to work in our children as well. By setting a godly example for our children, we provide a solid foundation that will set them up for a life of peace and blessings in the name of Jesus.
