A Wife of Noble Character: Lead By Example

Proverbs 31:31 -- "Reward her for all she has done. Let her deeds publicly declare her praise."

As a stay at home mother I have to understand and accept that much of what i do day in and day out will not be acknowledged. The piles of dishes and loads of laundry are often only noticed when it isn't done. All of the time and effort I spend caring for and teaching my daughter is only witnessed by the way she interacts with others and the skills she knows.

Even if you aren't a stay at home mom, you still have many deeds you naturally do that inevitably go unnoticed. From as simple as putting food on the table to reading stories or a special activity you do with your children and family.

However, there is reward when we do what we can to serve the Lord. One of the best ways we can serve Him is to care for and teach our children, managing our home and family and being present in the community.

Our best teaching role, no matter what your particular situation looks like, is to be an example. That is what Jesus was while He walked the earth -- an example for us to follow to learn how to live in peace and joy and be at one with the Father.

1 Timothy 5:25 -- "In the same way, the good deeds of some people are obvious. And the good deeds done in secret will someday come to light."

The good news for those who serve God and lead as an example, who do so much without expecting anything in return is that God is watching and His is smiling down on your service. He know the efforts you put forth, He sees the love you share and He will reward you by showing you the greater impact you have on the community, your family and your children.

Psalms 128:2 -- "You will enjoy the fruit of your labor. How joyful and prosperous you will be!"

The wife of noble character does not do what she does so the world knows how great she is -- she does it because it makes the people around her a little more joyful and because there is great peace and joy found in serving the Lord and helping others.

Now that we are at the end of this study of the wife of noble character, you should see less of the wife and more of God. This is the example that God shows us of what we are capable of as women, as wives and as mothers. The question now is how are you going to live up to His expectation?
