We Serve a Loving God

Jeremiah 31:3 -- “Long ago the Lord said to Israel: “I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.”

We serve a loving God. He teaches us, warns us, disciplines us, but most importantly, he loves us.

Have you ever felt unloved? Have you ever felt unworthy in front of God? We all have. It’s so easy to have a bad day or make a bad decision and fear all hope is lost. But you are never fully lost from God.

In Jeremiah’s time, the kings of Judah were leading the people down a destructive path. Jeremiah’s message to the people was “repent and turn back to God!” However, the people didn't listen and the city of Jerusalem fell.

Even after the people disobeyed and were punished, there was still hope of restoration. With God there is always hope. Long ago the Lord told Israel he loved them, an everlasting love. And he still loves us today, faults and all. God reaches towards his people with kindness, always trying to draw us closer to him.

Dear Lord,
Praise Your Name that we serve a loving God who always wants the best for us! Thank you for loving me no matter what. Help me to not fear, instead to look toward your hope and reveal in your love.
