Overcoming "Snake and Scorpions"

Luke 10:19 -- “Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you.”

Let’s face it, the world is full of “snakes and scorpions.” You find them at work, at school, in the grocery store and sad but true, even in church. But Jesus ha equipped us with the power to overcome the enemy and all the “snakes and scorpions” the world can throw at us.

Living in the world is not easy. There are stresses and obstacles in every step we take. But Jesus promises, “nothing will harm you.” Jesus has already conquered the world. When we walk in faith with Jesus, we can use his authority to overcome the world in the same way he did.

There will always be stresses and there will always be “snakes and scorpion” at our doorstep, but we don’t have to be consumed with adversity the way the world is, we can rise above it under the authority of Jesus.

Dear Lord, thank you for sending your Son Jesus to conquer the world for us. Please help me to avoid getting caught up in the stresses of the world, instead, help me to use the authority of Jesus to overcome the “snakes and scorpion” I face.
