Watching a fire burn is an amazing thing. I love watching the warm, bright flames spark and dance among the kindling. That one spark can start a fire, but it takes caution and awareness to control it. Fires can very easily become uncontrollable, spreading and causing unintentional damage. Even the best controlled fire consumes everything thrown into it.
Our words are like fire. We must not be careless with our words because they can cause unintentional destruction. Words said in anger or spite are the only sparks needed to destroy relationships that took years to build. It leaves the type of burn that takes a long time to mend.
We must use positive words to build people up and avoid the negative flames that tear people down. Think positively, speak positively, live positively and avoid the life that “is set on fire by hell itself.”
Dear Lord,
Please help me to think positively, speak positively and live positively. Please help me to be careful with my words and avoid the flames of wickedness.
